Wellington Advent Calendar

For this piece I was commissioned by WREDA to come up with a fun, exciting, & engaging illustration that conveyed a sense of discovery within Wellington city, for use as an online advent calendar (and print around the city) this was to promote retailers and activity within the city. The online advent calendar was animated, with elements within the artwork moving, & hidden windows opening to reveal daily offers (Icons below). I was initially keen on using a limited colour pallet, as this offers a sense of sophistication, and balance in such a busy image, after some exploration we settled on the final palette (incorporating elements of the WREDA brand palette).... fits the brief nicely.
