I was commissioned to create this artwork of a favourite coffee spot after the children's school drop-off (pauatahanui shops, Wellington, N.Z), I wanted to create a sense of place, & early morning... the calm after the storm. I selected the angle above as the school is on the other side of the crossing, so it helps create the sense of time & place, the location has some character but isn't bursting at the seams, so this angle also gave me the ability to include the lamppost which helps the composition, gives some added character, and elegance.
