The brief was to create a fun, vibrant, youthful mural, that told the story of people and place in Upper Hutt, with one Caveat, incorporate the existing Library pink Books/Hills graphic.  'Pūrehurehu’ is the name for this vehicle, literally referring to a Cirrus cloud, or mist lying in small detached portions, I used this as the starting point for the art work, incorporating it into a dreamscape rolling over the hills, I wanted the artwork to contrast and compliment the existing graphics, be visible and distinctive, speak of something new & exciting rolling in.
The Library bus had such a positive impact and response from the community that I was commissioned to create artwork for a second bus, which was developed around the river and key landmarks within Upper Hutt.
